My purpose with this gallery, is to continue on with this project as a form of personal journal. I won't be posting on a daily basis; my intent is to journal more of the
major events, adventures, people and creativities as they perk my life!

    June 21 ***HAPPY SUMMER!***

On May 17 we received notice that the camping reservations for our Annual Ladies Camping Trip had been cancelled :-( We make these reservations 6 months ahead of time; this news caused disappointment, pouting and some whining---even though one of our rules is "No Whining".
The cancellations were due to the anticipated probable flooding of the campgrounds due to run off of excessive snow melt. That particular (and our favorite) campground is not even due to open until Aug. 1; our trip is mid-July.
After much research to find different accommodations for our group, we finally discovered this pictured campground along the Kings River. We were being forced to try something new; spent a day trip reconissance mission to check it out, and decided it would do!
Our Central California temps have been rising causing the excessive snowpack in the Sierras to rapidly thaw and forcefully flow downstream. These rivers and streams are now swelling and problem flooding has begun.
This morning we learned that this beautiful campground is underwater. Notice has also been given that the counties which the Kings River flows through have 'Closed' the river; no swimming, no boating, no tubing, no rafting...until further notice.
So....presently once again we have no accommodations for our trip which is in 3 weeks.
I really am trying NOT to pout & whine!
I am NOT gunna get my panties in a bunch about this!

3 shot panorama - if viewed larger you can see the river
That's my car on the far left in one of the three campsites-along the river-that we have reserved......IF the waters receed.
