Lady Kate's Journal 2010

I wish to offer my gratitude to several of the long-standing members of the Daily Photo Community for inadvertently inspiring me to also continue with this project and participate here in this awesome community of multi-talented, inspirational creative artists! My purpose is to continue on with this project as a form of personal journal. Over the last half year or so, (it's now early August, 2010), I've had need to apply more focus in other areas of my life, which is still the case. I won't be posting on a daily basis; my intent is to journal more of the major events, adventures, people and creativities as they perk my life! This gallery begins by going backwards for a while in an attempt to catch up for 2010. Previous to the first image in this gallery, I posted only several 2010 images in my original Daily Photo gallery--which should have been seperated into two different galleries: 2008 and 2009. As it is, there are those two years presented therein. The last entry can be found HERE in "My Task At Hand".

Cont. from yesterday:

Roxy did make it through the night, and even still had an appetite. Then again, food was certainly one of her favorite things! I hand fed her some cooked carrots for breakfast.
However, she was worse off than yesterday :-(
In late morning she was freed from the restrictions of her physical body and this world.
Today was very rough. I didn't know I had that many tears in me, and they keep coming ;-(
We know our tears are selfish, because of how much she will be missed. We are in total belief and trust that she is VERY happy, healthy and experiencing pure bliss right now ;-)

I didn't allow myself the indulgence of the computer today until just a while ago.
WOW!! With tears, I am experiencing great appreciation for the MANY wonderful, compassionate, tender-hearted, sympathetic and empathtic comments that we received.
I shared them with my husband which he also read with tear-filled eyes.
THANK YOU! I posted yesterdays photo & commentary for personal journaling purposes, never expecting many, if any, comments.
This is one of the awesome benefits of participation within this DP community.
Again, thank you; that was very touching!

My husband and I have both been VERY, VERY heavy hearted today :(
Our beloved 14 yr. old Cocker Spaniel, Roxy, began her demise this morning. She must have suffered some sort of stroke during last night; she had very little use of her hind end and rear legs this morning. Throughout the day, she lost all but a very slight use of her rear legs, and we had to carry anytime moving was needed.
After our heartbreaking discussion of what to do, if she does make it through tonight, we decided that for this afternoon we'd take her to one of her favorite places.....the beach!
30 min. west of us is the coastline and we headed to Cayucos Beach, @ 10 min. north of Morro Bay.
My husband carried her out to the sand, where we sat for a couple of hours. I know she enjoyed it, yet I'm sure it must have been frustrating for her since she could do nothing but lay there :(
It was a beautiful day. Our choice was wise since the predicted rain storm for tonight and tomorrow was sending in it's dark clouds by the time we were leaving.
My husband took this shot and it's sooc, with Morro Bay (with its Morro Rock) in the background.

The skies were absolutely beautiful tonight; full moon, gorgeous clouds and very cool colors in the clouds around the moon.
It was a great practice session with the camera. So much to learn!

Yes....I added a touch of contrast and a 'bit' of saturation.

I created a gallery with more images from this session tonight: Our Beautiful Moon
