DailyPhotos > LadyKatesPhotography  > Daily Photos > My Task At Hand
My version of "Daily Photos" will be ever-so-typical of myself: 'A Different Little Twist'!!

I'm using this gallery as an impetus: one of my present goals is to add several photos per day into this website.
As I'm doing so, I will choose one of the photos to include in this 365 day project!
(If I experience a difficult time choosing which image to use as my 'Daily Photo', I'll add the other choice(s) into my Contender gallery)

Occasionally, there will be days when the photo was actually taken on that particular day!
This will probably be governed by available time and my creative spirit!

The photos within this gallery are available to order as prints and other merchandise; click on the 'buy' icons.

I will appreciate any comments and/or critiques; click on the 'add comments' on the bottom left, and please include your name! You can also vote on the photos, if you choose; drag your pointer onto the enlarged image on the right; a box will appear on the top right which allows the voting process. Just click either yea-or-nay!

Thank you for visiting this Gallery, and I hope you enjoy the photos presented here!

**************Full Moon Rising Over Half Dome*****************

Last week, my sister and I spent several days absorbed in the majesty of Yosemite! We were a touch envious that we didn't get the snow which Micalngelo did during his recent visit there, but seeing as we were camping, I'm sure we were more comfortable without that experience!

The icing on our cake was the full moon! I was really excited with the idea of attempting to get some photos of that beautiful moon rising alongside Half Dome! I give my sister a lot of credit for sticking it out with me on the night of the actual 'full' moon. We were at the location of choice a little earlier than we could have, thus, we had to wait a while...and it was getting colder my the minute!! We stood, swayed, pranced, danced, sang, fidgeted, watched coyotes get a touch too close....just trying to keep warm!!
Three nights later, I set out to try again at a different location, with my sister graciously offering to "stay, and guard our campsite!"
What I experienced over the next three hours was one of 'life's most memorable'!! It was as if I had Yosemite Valley TOTALLY TO MYSELF.
The sky was glittering with stars; the air was crisp and intoxicating with the wonderful mountain aromas; the sounds were peacefully melodious!
I watched the sky to the left of Half Dome as it began to glow brighter and brighter , before the moon finally showed its face from behind mountain silhouettes. As the moon rose higher, the brighter the Valley became! 'Twas absolutely beautiful and very soul-nourishing!

My alone time was also an intense technical practice session with my camera. (Plus the fact that I had broken my tripod during the previous 'full moon session')

Johnloguk......you'll be proud! I thought of you, and your rucsac; I took an extra knitted scarf with me! It wads up any which way you want it to, as long as you can find something to place it on!! Worked like a champ!

Dedman......you'll be proud, too! I thought of you as I had to lay down on my belly, in the cold dirt, to get the shot of The Chapel (it's in my Contender gallery) because the only thing I found to wad the scarf on (as a tripod) was a (low) rock!!

I've included a few more shots from the Full Moon sessions in
my Contender gallery

More during my drive home on yesterday; heading south on Hwy. 101, this is looking east, inbetween King City and San Ardo.

My sister and I are leaving tomorrow morning to go camping in Yosemite! One of my favorite places!
Might be able to take the laptop and use internet ( maybe I'll be able to post a couple of DP's!), while lounging in front of the fireplace at the Awanhee Hotel. But if you don't hear or see anything from me, you'll know we decided to stay outside and keep playing!
I'm guessing I'll probably be posting some of the photos starting Sunday night, after our return home!
Have a good week! Blessings!

After saying good bye to Kamryn and Mike this afternoon, I took a short cruise through Capitola Village.
(two-shot panorama)
It was a very beautiful day, with gorgeous skies and spectacular clouds; giving me much to look at during my drive home! I stopped several times to practice shooting panoramas. I hope to post one or two of those this week!

I'm heading north today to visit with my daughter and her fiance. They're in the process of purchasing their first home, and have one in escrow, in San Jose . So, we're going to check it out together!

During my last visit with them, we looked at another house in San Jose; I grabbed this shot while we were in that vacinity. I know I giggled while thinking "I'll get shots of this for AndreaKaus!" This morning I applied a touch of 'watercolor' filter and some framing.

Have a wonderful weekend! Most likely, I won't be able to check into this community until Monday!

My 'Photo time' today was spent with the chickens!!
I've been adding to the gallery: "Proud and Propitious Poultry"?!

Let's begin the competition: "This photo is begging for a caption!!"

"Life is this simple:
We are living in a transparent world,
and God shines through in every moment.
This is not just a fable or a nice story; it is living truth.
If we remember God, abandon ourselves to God,
and forget ourselves, we may see this truth:
God manifests everywhere, in everything.
We cannot be without God.
It's impossible. It's simply impossible."

Ever been to the town of Baker?!
Was using 'photo time' tonight to go through one of my Mojave Desert file folders! Just thought I'd choose one and share it!

(Huuummm!? Across the street from this, is The Bun Boy Resturant!!!)

The day after I posted the beautifully fall-colored Poison Oak, I set out in the later afternoon in search of more fall colors here in northern San Luis Obispo County, Central Coast California. I drove around the Atascadero area, finding some beautiful specimens, hidden in areas which I had not driven through lately! As a matter-of-fact, the choice for this DP was difficult; I had much to choose from!
I've included some of those images in my new Autumn gallery!

I began my search that afternoon by stopping by one of our local nursuries in order to photograph one of their displays which I had seen several days earlier. That was my DP for Oct. 28. I'm mentioning this for those of you that were wanting to give me the credit for the beautiful display.
Alas, the wonderfully creative minds and hands of those working in the nursery of Miner's Harware deserve a round of applause! Their nursery is ALWAYS beautiful, with very creative displays!
