Swans Galleries

Swans : I experience much enjoyment each time I visit our small local 'Atascadero Lake'; most especially in watching and photographing the beautiful Swan couple that has been living there. *********************************************************** 1/11/11 Apparently right around Christmas, the female swan was rescued because she was obviously very ill. It was found that she had lead poisoning from swallowing a lead fishing sinker. Expert Vets were consulted, and some of our local (awesome) Vets (Drs. Polina Vishkautsan and David Edsall) able to successfully remove the sinker from her stomach. They're thinking her recuperation period to be @ 2 months before she'll be taken back to the lake. That's wonderful ! However, I'm really feeling for this handsome guy, because Swans mate for life; he's probably sad and lonely ;-( Swan Poisoning news article ********************************************************* The cost before surgery was $250 and besides the surgery there is daily costs for her care and rehabilitation.
