My version of "Daily Photos" will be ever-so-typical of myself: 'A Different Little Twist'!!

I'm using this gallery as an impetus: one of my present goals is to add several photos per day into this website.
As I'm doing so, I will choose one of the photos to include in this 365 day project!
(If I experience a difficult time choosing which image to use as my 'Daily Photo', I'll add the other choice(s) into my Contender gallery)

Occasionally, there will be days when the photo was actually taken on that particular day!
This will probably be governed by available time and my creative spirit!

The photos within this gallery are available to order as prints and other merchandise; click on the 'buy' icons.

I will appreciate any comments and/or critiques; click on the 'add comments' on the bottom left, and please include your name! You can also vote on the photos, if you choose; drag your pointer onto the enlarged image on the right; a box will appear on the top right which allows the voting process. Just click either yea-or-nay!

Thank you for visiting this Gallery, and I hope you enjoy the photos presented here!

This photo was during last year's trip on Easter weekend. It's an SP, with friend included! I set the mini tripod on the hood of the car!

My Fabulous Friend, Myki, and I go on an annual (we'd rather it was bi-annual!) adventure; Our "Great Rock Hunting Expedition"!! We spend three wonderful days away together, wandering around out in the desert!
Yes! We have several purposes/reasons for our wanderings:
(listed, however not necessarily in any particular order!!)
*) Spending time alone together
*) Being totally carefree, peaceful, adventuresome, spontaneous and silly
*) Getting ourselves out in the middle of Podunk Nowhere......then we can stand, slowly turning 360 degrees, not seeing or hearing another human being; experiencing the view, which is usually for miles, and miles, and miles...........soaking in the sunshine, the breeze (well, sometimes it's kinda gale-force wind!) and all the spectacular beauty which desert areas offer!
*) End up in places we've never been before (sometimes go back to some favorite spots!)
*) Hunt for treasures! Most specifically, rocks!! Some of what we bring home are actually pretty good sized boulders! For those, it takes both of us with all our effort combined! We're very selective when we're hunting; it isn't just any old rock that gets to come home with us and adorn our landscapes!! Oh No! They have to be very special to end up in the trailer!

Yes! We haul a trailer! We bring rockhounding books, maps and directions (some of which are extremely funny and have caused us some side-splitting laughter while trying to follow them! ----Who wrote those?!?! ) We also take a dolly and a ramp;, rock picks, shovel, crowbar, wagon, miner's lights for our hats, backpacks, gloves, gardener's claw.........and last but certanily not least, the icechest filled with snacks and beverages.......and our cameras!!!!

Inyokern is within the Northwest portion of the Mojave Desert. Death Valley is East, and South a bit, from Inyokern.
FYI: Inyokern is a community with a population of---the internet site states @ 900. Huummm, don't know where they're all living; obvious to us that this populas is quite spread out!!

WE'RE HEADING OUT TOMORROW MORNING!!! Hooorahhh!!
If the hotel has internet, we'll post DP's showing you some highlights of our adventure!! If not, I'll catch up after we get home!

Always remember: "NEVER go rockhunting without your Tiara!!"

Photo time today was spent adding to my bench gallery: Benches
The first time I used my first digital camera, I spent a couple of hours in this park. I would sit for a while and read through the manual, then go try it. I'd sit again, reading some other pages, then go try that! This was May'05.

Iris and The Lawn Goddess

The evening before last, I did a photo session with our gorgeous Irises and beautiful Lawn Goddess as models!
(She did sign the release form!)
I finally had the time to upload the photos this morning. I now have another goal: to add new photos into my Iris gallery!

Today was a ‘play catch-up’ day, after having been away. I did have a
fun practice session this evening in the sunset and soon thereafter light,
with my Iris as models. However, time was not allowing me to even upload
those from the camera yet. As an act of discipline, I am quickly posting
this shot; obviously the image is another from April 20.

Hey...Johnloguk, and ‘Hans’... this one is for each of you!
John, this is the PP which you taught me; and for Hans, our Fireman in the family!

While returning home from the clean-up job w/ my siblings, I requested a quick little side trip through the town of Los Alamos, which is approx. 1 1/2 hrs. south of where I live here in California. It was late afternoon, and I knew that this Hotel would have photo ops for my DP. My sister stayed in the truck while I spent @ 7 minutes getting some shots of the front of this building!
It's a very cool place; serving as a B & B, with a Saloon and a great dinner house.

You can check it out for yourself!: Union Hotel and Victorian Mansion

There's a Victorian Mansion next door which is a seperate entity, and I just found out it is under new seperate management, and has it's own website.
It is an extremely unique B & B experience in itself!! Actually, their website refers to it as an 'Eclectic B & B'! That is an understatement!!

First and foremost, I want to thank those of you who commented on my DP for yesterday!!
Wow! That was certainly encouraging and uplifting!
I have to tell you, that I’m feeling neglectful, most especially after that kind of generosity, because I’m not presently in a position to offer many (if any) comments in return. I am away for a couple of days with my siblings so that we can work together concerning our Dad’s house. I’m experiencing some withdrawals due to the fact that I’ve really only had enough extra time to post the DP; an exercise in discipline as it is: My Task At Hand! The thumbnails of the other DP’s look fantastic and intriguing; I’ve glanced at those, after posting, right before I need to turn the laptop off and get some sleep!!

This is one of the scenarios that was looking at us when we opened the garage door!!

Blessings!

Today, I was helping to clear out and clean up my Dad's house.
We were almost ready to leave for the night, when the thought of
my DP entered my otherwise filled mind! I looked around for a while for some interesting subject matter and finally decided upon this scene. (I moved nothing; this is as it was!)

This really was a cooperative effort; a SmugMug buddy of mine happens to live next door and was visiting when I began my search for something to photograph! He came up with the idea to shine a flashlight above her praying hands!
Great idea, Al ! Was fun working with you!
Check out Al's site; in particular, he does great action shots!

This morning I went into the wonderful little art store here in town.
You can learn more about the shop here:
Our town's cool little art shop
The effervescent, talented owner was in the beginning stages of a painting of some cruiser bicycles.
As I turned to leave, this beauty was parked inside by the door; pleading to be the model for my DP for today!!

Thanks, Bobbi ! You are a true gift for the soul!

I had several images I liked from this bike session, so I've included another one here:

Visited with a dear friend this afternoon! I was drawn to this stunning Wisteria the minute I got out of the car! Her sitting areas are perfect; to enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, the cool of the breeze, the colors and elegance of this magnificent Wisteria and the sweet aroma thereof, is quite sensational !!
Thank you, Joyce! (And Rikki!) Was a fabulous afternoon!
