My version of "Daily Photos" will be ever-so-typical of myself: 'A Different Little Twist'!!

I'm using this gallery as an impetus: one of my present goals is to add several photos per day into this website.
As I'm doing so, I will choose one of the photos to include in this 365 day project!
(If I experience a difficult time choosing which image to use as my 'Daily Photo', I'll add the other choice(s) into my Contender gallery)

Occasionally, there will be days when the photo was actually taken on that particular day!
This will probably be governed by available time and my creative spirit!

The photos within this gallery are available to order as prints and other merchandise; click on the 'buy' icons.

I will appreciate any comments and/or critiques; click on the 'add comments' on the bottom left, and please include your name! You can also vote on the photos, if you choose; drag your pointer onto the enlarged image on the right; a box will appear on the top right which allows the voting process. LadyKatesPhotography > May 23 OK, MyKey! LOL!! (BTW: Fannie IS going on the campin' trip!) The truth is: I like them even if they're not breathing!! This shot is one from a night-time practice session which I did last week. I needed a model ! I will be going back to this location with three toddlers, one of which will take the place of 'Fannie' here! On April 3, I did another practice session (posted one as a DP), at a different location in preparation for this same upcoming photo shoot! I'm partial to this spot! Opinions?! I won't be posting tomorrow night; we're going to go help our middle daughter celebrate her graduation from her Masters program!!! The party will include a campout in their big backyard, as many of the guests are coming from out of town! I'll probably be posting some kind of fun shot from 'the celebration party' on Sunday!? Have a great weekend!
LadyKatesPhotography > May 22 This is a follow-up to my DP for yesterday. There were quite a few comments asking what kind of flower that was. I took photos of it because of my fascination with it's unique qualities and beauty, not having a clue what it was! So, I asked my sister and she had the answer for you!! Yes! Karinaboese......I'm impressed; you are right! Even more specifically: The Pincushion Protea- Leucospermum cordifolium. These plants are part of the Cape Floral Kingdom known in South Africa as "Fynbos." Over 7,700 plant species are found in the Fynbos family. Fynbos is an Afrikaans word meaning "fine bush" and consists mainly of members of the Protea and Erica families. "Rebeccahelm" might probably recognize these?!?! Here is an informative site with a good Protea photo gallery As my sister was telling me of their origin, I remembered that I have other photos of S. African flowers! I met a woman at a Poultry Show that raises both exotic poultry and South African Plants. She had arranged with the hosting Poultry Club to bring flowers to decorate the Showroom. I enjoyed photographing the gorgeous flowers as much as the beautiful poultry! She is from the Monterey area; her site has information and photos of their 'Farm' and the many varieties of flowers which are grown there:Fynbos Farm This is one of the shots which I took at the Monterey Poultry Show. There are seven different kinds of flowers in this arrangement. I added a new flower gallery: Exotic South African flora
LadyKatesPhotography > May 21 Once again, I refrained from taking the camera with me to 'the part-time job'! My sister brought over a few shade-loving, flowering plants for the back yard make-over; seems very fitting to post another flower from her own yard. Thanks for your help, Sis!!
LadyKatesPhotography > May 20 I have come to the conclusion that it IS NOT a good idea for me to take my camera along to the 'Rennovation Project'! We're in the very last stages before completion; it is way too easy for me to get side-tracked when I know that the camera is in the car! I was a good girl; I didn't take it today! This last Sunday, we had dinner at our daughter's home. Of course, we took Roxy with us! As soon as she gets out of the car, she's on a mission to go find Colby! Then, they're both happy and content, which is sooo heartwarming and endearing!!
LadyKatesPhotography > May 19 Today, my friend Myki and I cruised through two South-County businesses hunting for some type of yard art as an addition to 'The Rennovation Project'/outside. Certainly found some unique and interesting treasures!! However, did not yet make a choice; might have to keep hunting! I'm creating a new gallery!! Yard Art !!
LadyKatesPhotography > May 18 "If you don't put the darn camera away, and get back to work, I'm going to bite ya!" I spent the weekend working at the 'Rennovation Project/part-time job! My ever-so-helpful, handy and wonderful husband came along, as my beautiful assistant!! We're near to completion as far as the house goes, so I finally got to start the yard work and landscaping these last couple of days! My favorite part!! Early on with this entire project, I decided to create an 'island' feature in the front lawn area. I took this shot late this afternoon. I'm really looking forward to, several months down the road, when these plants have started 'growing up'! This was one of many yard projects.....I'm feeling a touch tired! Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to spend some time looking through the Daily Photo Community and see some of what I've missed for a couple of days! Good night!

My photo/computer time needs to limited for a few days, so I'm not getting to see or comment on many photos. Do want to Thank y'all so much for your generous and encouraging comments! I'll get back into the swing of it soon, after a few other things leave my plate!

LadyKatesPhotography > May 14 While working in Shell Beach today, I drove past the Park and noticed a beautiful photo opportunity, which was a true artist at work!! I introduced myself, and asked if I could take a photo of him. I explained the Daily Photo community within SmugMug; asking if he would mind if I posted one of the shots of him as my DP! He very graciously agreed! This artist is Robert Morris, from Santa Maria (California); an incredible talent with his oil paints, and brushes. I created a gallery for you within my category of California Central Coast area However, I have not finished uploading the photos yet! Probably won't have a chance to finish until Friday (16th). The house he is using as subject matter is infamous in our county! It has served as a model for many photographers and artists! Two years ago, I entered a photo contest, with one of the shots I have taken of this house and was bestowed the honor of being one of the twelve winners! She had called asking if I would come over to take photos of her roses. Her gardens are always gorgeous!!
