My version of "Daily Photos" will be ever-so-typical of myself: 'A Different Little Twist'!!

I'm using this gallery as an impetus: one of my present goals is to add several photos per day into this website.
As I'm doing so, I will choose one of the photos to include in this 365 day project!
(If I experience a difficult time choosing which image to use as my 'Daily Photo', I'll add the other choice(s) into my Contender gallery)

Occasionally, there will be days when the photo was actually taken on that particular day!
This will probably be governed by available time and my creative spirit!

The photos within this gallery are available to order as prints and other merchandise; click on the 'buy' icons.

I will appreciate any comments and/or critiques; click on the 'add comments' on the bottom left, and please include your name! You can also vote on the photos, if you choose; drag your pointer onto the enlarged image on the right; a box will appear on the top right which allows the voting process. Just click either yea-or-nay!

Thank you for visiting this Gallery, and I hope you enjoy the photos presented here!

My attempts at getting a good shot of a Hummingbird haven't proved sharp enough....yet!
I've also found that I begin to run out of patience waiting for them to come back!!
So, I decided a little PS practice would be fun!

I included another shot, and PS practice, in my Contender Gallery
LadyKatesPhotography > June 24

It's been a very busy week; I haven't posted a DP for a couple of days, nor have I been able to look through any of your wonderful photos, or share comments with y'all. Soon!!
This photo came from a shoot I did on June 14. Previously, I have posted DP's on April 3 and May 23 which were practice runs for this one....then, I used "Fannie Flamingo" as my model!! I didn't figure I'd have as long to work with Colby! However, he came through with flying 'bandanas'!!

I wanted to do this after dark, which was getting late for a three yr. old, but he revived when
our daughter told him "Come on, Honey....we're going to go play dress-up with Gramma!!"

On the way to the location, we centered the entire conversation towards him, to keep him awake, telling him we were taking him to a 'cowboy place'. We had brought his guitar, and told him he was going to get to be a country western singer! He was really liking this idea!!

While I was setting up, Samantha was helping him get into his 'cowboy' clothes. We hadn't thought to try on the boots before.....they didn't fit!! I took some shots with him barefoot, but when his feet started getting cold we had to put the socks back on!

The resturant was closed, and it's quite far from anything, so we told him he could sing his heart out!! Sing as loud as you want to Colby! Our mistake was that we had not taken another person with a video camera! It was one of the funniest things I seen in a long time! He put on quite a show! He was making up words to a song (we both really wish we remembered what the words were---it was funnnnny! Half-way through the shoot--rather, 'His Show'--he informed us that he was a country western Ozzy Osborne!!!!

On the way home, while we were still complimenting him on what a great show he did for us, he told us "Well, you're welcome! My pleasure!" Then added, "You know, I am a country western rock-n-roll star!!"
We're considering trying the entire thing again so that we could get it all on video!!!
It would be a YouTube smash!!
And, of course, Roxy loved the whole evening. She had her 'boy' singing to her!

My sister stayed with us last night, trying to get out of the heat of Shell Beach (California).
We bribed her saying that if she came for a visit, we would turn the air-conditioner on,
seeing as she has no AC--there's no need for it at the coast--until these last several days!

This morning she and I took our coffee outside and played with her dog, Toby, and the remote control 4wheeler!!
It's funny, funny entertainment! Toby chases it; it chases her and she barks a lot! (We think she loves it!?)

At @ 3:00, we heard that it was cooling down at the coast and seeing as it was @110 in our neck of the woods, we spent the rest of the day in Shell Beach relishing the 85 degrees.

Was a fun day, Gaysie Mae!!

One of the best ways to find relief when it's 110 in the shade---run through the sprinklers!!!
It certainly made me happy; but the Glad was still sad :(

KurtPreston: come on, buddy! You can do it! (Run through the sprinklers if you want...but I'm talkin' about an SP!!!)
LadyKatesPhotography > June 19

Of course...I just have to do a follow-up to the DP which MyKey posted yesterday---MyKey's June 19 DP .
(I was too tired to do this last night!)

The first time I took her to this lake, (@ 7,200 ft. in the Sierra Nevada Mts.) was the summer of 2002, the first year of
what has become an annual camping trip with our group of lady friends. This particular photo was 2005.

Yesssirreee! Myki and I have taken each other on some mighty fine adventures! The descriptives thereof definitely have
a wide range, and would include: spectacular, unique, eerie, sensational, incredulous, spiritual, award-winning, and certainly funnny!

Thanks, Myki for being such a great friend! What a gift in my life!

I met up with my siblings for dinner and enjoyed a pleasant evening together. My sister was telling us of the extremely abnormal 106 degree temp today in Shell Beach, CA, and how miserable her animals seemed. Reminded me of this image of her 'Shaddy', which I took a while ago. She IS gorgeous, but....let me tell you, this is a cat with a real bitchy attitute!!

P.S. 'Our' Gladiola was not at all happy last evening or today during our heat wave. Hopefully it will be revived a bit by morning!
LadyKatesPhotography > June 17

This is Day 9 in the life of the beautiful Gladiola! It still has several more buds yet to open. This morning, there were only four blossoms.
It was a beautiful sunny morning, with incredibly blue skies. This image is almost SOOC; I did slightly sharpen it.
P.S. There were no snails, potato bugs, or jock straps anywhere in sight!!
Rick Willis: I just now noticed that there is 'dust on the sensor'! *&%#....and I just had the camera cleaned and serviced. Huummm?
LadyKatesPhotography > June 16

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who made comments on my Jock Strap!! I uploaded that right before I went to bed last night. This morning, with cup of coffee in hand, I went to the computer to check in on the daily community. When I opened up mine to read any comments, I almost choked on the coffee! I was laughing so hard...my husband called from another room "what the heck is going on in there!?" Sooo, thank you for the fun entertainment and therapy throughout today!!

Knowing I was uploading the J.S. yesterday, I saved this one for today!
I was working in the yard yesterday, and came across this snail. Very interesting.
I've made it to this point in my life and have never before seen 'snail eggs'. Have you?
(Do we really care!?!?)

Good night!
LadyKatesPhotography > June 15

Yesterday I said I'd save the story regarding 'the eyes' for another day!

A couple of years ago, my dear, dear friend Rikki bestowed upon me this beautifully decorated Jock Strap, as my Christmas present!!! Why? you might be thinking to yourself--or most probably asking outloud to your computer monitor--!! Because she could!

After the laughter subsided when I opened it--in front of several others--Rikki told the story about the night she was creating her 'new idea'. She said that I called her to chat about the upcoming annual Christmas get-together we would be attending. And during the conversation, I randomly asked her if she ever experienced any times where she ever caught herself doing something which was just totally superfluous, and seemingly a waste of time?? She said she could hardly contain herself, because as we were talking she was sewing eyes, lips, hair, etc. on to a Jock Strap!!!!
*******************************************************************************
This was brought on by the fact that several months earlier, at my birthday party, Rikki received a prize during a game: a very prettily wrapped box containing a case of jock straps!!
********************************************************************************
That's our story, and we're stickin' to it! (And it lives on!)
