I wish to offer my gratitude to several of the long-standing members of the Daily Photo Community for inadvertently inspiring me
to also continue with this project and participate here in this awesome community of multi-talented, inspirational creative artists!

My purpose is to continue on with this project as a form of personal journal. Over the last half year or so, (it's now early August, 2010), I've had need to apply
more focus in other areas of my life, which is still the case. I won't be posting on a daily basis; my intent is to journal more of the
major events, adventures, people and creativities as they perk my life!

This gallery begins by going backwards for a while in an attempt to catch up for 2010.
Previous to the first image in this gallery, I posted only several 2010 images in my original Daily Photo gallery--which should have been seperated into two different galleries: 2008 and 2009.
As it is, there are those two years presented therein. The last entry can be found HERE in "My Task At Hand".

At long last, today I created a gallery for Yosemite!! This gallery will probably NEVER be complete....
I LOVE YOSEMITE!!

One of my recent visits to Y.V. happened to be during a full moon. I did two 'practice sessions' on consecutive nights; layering with warm clothes before heading out! On the first night, I managed to break my tripod :(
This shot was taken on the second night, using a big knit scarf to support the camera. And with that, I was certainly limited as to where I could set the camera up; was scouting for posts, rocks, stumps, etc.
My attention was on the full moon rising to the left of half Dome; also hoping to get some water reflection.
I was somewhat pleased with the results---especially since I had never done any night photography previous to this.

Being most exceptional was in turning around, to see this: looking towards the southern part of the Valley, with the moon behind me! WOW!

The icing on the cake was that during the several hours I spent out there, I had all of Yosemite Valley completely to myself! --except for an occasional car in the distance--

An incredibly sensational and memorable experience!

Our friend, Liz, invited us to a party to honor Carl. Carl is her car!! In very good condition, he just recently turned 300,000 miles!!!

The party was a bonfire on Oceano Beach (CA), which is @45 min. south of us.

A good time was had by all.......especially Carl !! He just quietly sat there and watched the sunset, while the rest of us were
experiencing foot-long fire-roasted hot dogs, vegies, potato salad and s'mores ! ;-)))

Thanks, Liz! And a really BIG thank you to Carl !

This evening, Ella, Maria and I were sitting outside on my deck.
Laying on our patio table is a big tube of 'bubble juice' (!!); the dip-stick bubble maker is also large, for making.....large bubbles.

Maria started 'making bubbles'. I grabbed my camera; I've always wanted to attempt photographing bubbles.
Yeah, yeah....I know; we're so easily entertained! Anyway, I can't do both at the same time, make the bubbles, and use the camera:(
I realized my opportunity :o) As Maria made bubbles, I tried to get shots of them. It was a fun practice session!
This bubble is @ 6 " in diameter.
I realized it would be difficult, and that realization came true. I'm looking forward to playing at this again soon. ;-)

I DO commend you S'Muggers that have accomplished this challenge!

Another shot from last night's practice session. For this one, I had changed a camera setting, had turned off the green yard light and was wiggling a flashlight beam onto the big tree during the long exposure.

Did a technical practice session tonight, with the (almost) full moon behind me.
For some shots I turned on the driveway area light, with the green bulb.
Check out the enlarged version and you can see that the stars are red, blue, yellow and white! Very cool !

This is SOOC.

We went to our local Zoo (Charles Paddock Zoo) this last Sunday.
Today I added new photos to my Flamingos gallery.

Spent (long over-due) time adding to a gallery today! Pink Flamingos

In early March, I spent a week in Las Vegas, for a S'Mugger get-together, while attending WPPI. S'Muggers!
During free time, on my first day, I immediately headed for the 'live' Flamingo habitat at....
yes: The FLAMINGO!!

Todays investment in this particular gallery was motivated by a friend who suggested a 'girls road trip to Vegas', in the near future!
